Regular Session, 2010 HOUSE BILL NO. 1380 BY REPRESENTATIVE LEBAS AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 37:1479(B), relative to the Louisiana State Board of Home2 Inspectors; to establish penalties for home inspectors who fail to renew their license3 within the twelve-month period after expiration; to establish penalties for home4 inspectors who fail to renew their license within the thirty-six-month period5 following expiration; and to provide for related matters.6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7 Section 1. R.S. 37:1479(B) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 8 ยง1479. License issuance and renewal; appearance on documents9 * * *10 B. Any licensee who fails to timely renew his license may thereafter renew11 by paying the appropriate renewal and delinquent fees, filing a renewal application,12 and completing all continuing education requirements accruing during the period of13 delinquency. The period for delinquent renewal of an expired license shall be14 limited to the twelve-month period immediately following the expiration date of the15 active license. Failure to renew an expired license during such twelve-month period16 shall result in forfeiture of renewal rights and shall require the former licensee to17 apply as an initial applicant and meet all requirements of an initial applicant. require18 the licensee to pass the board approved licensing examination in addition to paying19 the appropriate renewal and delinquent fees, filing a renewal application, and20 completing all continuing education requirements accruing during the period of21 delinquency.
