SCHOOLS/EMPLOYEES: Requires first aid training for school employees who participate
in in-service training
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 17:440.1, relative to school employees; to require first aid training for public2
school employees; to provide for policies adopted by each city, parish, and other3
local public school board relative to such requirement; and to provide for related4
matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 17:440.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7
ยง440.1. School employees; first aid training; policies8
A. This Section shall be known and may be cited as the "Torri Palms-Moore9
Act".10
B. Each city, parish, and other local public school board shall adopt a policy11
to require that each school employee who participates in any required in-service12
training program shall receive first aid orientation and training.13
