Henry	HB No. 172
Abstract: Prohibits hunting game birds or wild quadrupeds with a firearm fitted with a
laser sight or any sighting device designed to project a beam of light to the target or
otherwise electronically illuminates the target.
Present law prohibits the taking or killing of game birds or wild quadrupeds with a firearm
fitted with a silencer, infrared sight, electronic operated sight, a device designed to enhance
night vision, or with an automatic shotgun holding more than three shells. Such shotguns
may be used if fitted with a plug to reduce the capacity to three shells.
Proposed law retains present law except changes from "electronic operated sight" to "laser
sight" and, except for laser sights authorized for use by visually impaired hunters, prohibits
any sighting device designed to project a beam of light to the target or otherwise
electronically illuminates the target.
