Regular Session, 2010 HOUSE BILL NO. 347 BY REPRESENTATIVE CHANDLER MTR VEHICLE/TRAILERS: Changes the requirement of liability insurance for certain recreational products dealers licensed by the Motor Vehicle Commission AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 32:1254(C)(9), relative to insurance requirements for trailer2 dealers; to exempt licensees who exclusively sell trailers from the liability insurance3 requirement; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 32:1254(C)(9) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6 ยง1254. Application for license; requirements for licensure; exemptions; contents;7 licenses; franchise filings8 * * *9 C. General licensing and compliance requirements for all license applicants10 and holders.11 * * *12 (9) All licensees, except for licensees who exclusively sell trailers, are13 required to furnish and keep in force required liability insurance coverage or liability14 protection provided by a liability trust fund as authorized by R.S. 22:46(9)(d) on15 vehicles in accordance with the financial responsibility laws of the state of16 Louisiana. If no proof is furnished to the commission within thirty days, the1 license of said licensee shall be revoked. Recreational product dealers selling all-2 terrain vehicles shall not be required to furnish and keep in force the minimum3 garage liability insurance coverage on all-terrain vehicles offered for sale unless the4 vehicles are utilized on the streets and roadways for demonstration or any other5 purpose.6 * * *7 DIGEST The digest printed below was prepared by House Legislative Services.
