RACING/REVENUES:  Provides relative to the Horsemen's Workers' Compensation
Program
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 4:251(C), relative to Horsemen's Workers' Compensation2
Insurance Program; to provide for a reporting date for the annual audited financial3
statement due to the commissioner of insurance; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 4:251(C) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 6
ยง251. Horsemen's Workers' Compensation Insurance Program; legislative findings;7

C. The insurance program authorized in this Part shall be subject to Part IV10
of Chapter 7, Chapter 8, and Chapter 12 of Title 22 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes11
of 1950. An annual audited financial statement shall be filed with the commissioner12
of insurance by July thirty-first of each year for the immediately preceding year13
ending December thirty-first. The commissioner of insurance shall also have the14
authority to examine the books, records, and affairs of the Horsemen's Workers'15

Abstract: Provides for a reporting date for the annual audited financial statement due to the
commissioner of insurance.
Present law requires the Horsemen's Workers' Compensation Insurance Program to file an
annual audited financial statement with the commissioner of insurance.
Proposed law retains present law but requires the financial statement to be filed by July 31
of each year for the immediately preceding year ending Dec. 31.
