HOUSE BILL NO. 395

APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT:  Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
DOTD in the suit entitled "Jeremy Waltrip, et al v. State of Louisiana, et al."
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2010-2
2011 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Jeremy Waltrip, et3
al. v. State of Louisiana, et al."; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  The sum of Three Hundred Forty-Five Thousand and No/1006
($345,000.00) Dollars in favor of plaintiffs, Jeremy Waltrip and Cora Beth Waltrip; the sum7
of Seventy Thousand and No/100 ($70,000.00) Dollars in favor of plaintiffs, Michael8
Pousson and Rachel Pousson; and the sum of Eighty Thousand and No/100 ($80,000.00)9
Dollars in favor of intervenor, Liberty Mutual Insurance Company; is hereby appropriated10
out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2010-2011 to be used to pay11
the consent judgment in the suit entitled "Jeremy Waltrip, et al v. State of Louisiana, et al.",12
bearing Number 2006-002289-D on the docket of the Fourteenth Judicial District Court,13
parish of Calcasieu, state of Louisiana.14
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2010; if vetoed by the governor15
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,16
2010, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 17 HLS 10RS-1321	ORIGINAL
