AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 43:144, relative to the publication of official proceedings of2
certain political subdivisions; to provide a deadline by which such official3
proceedings shall be prepared and recorded in the official journal of the entity; and4
to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1.  R.S. 43:144 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7
ยง144.  Penalty for failure to have proceedings published 8
The official of any municipal corporation, police jury, or school board by law9
responsible for the preparing and recording of the official proceedings who, within10
ten twenty days from the date of any meeting at which the official proceedings were11
had, wilfully neglects or fails to furnish the official journal with a copy of the12
minutes, ordinances, resolutions, budgets, and proceedings for publication, shall be13
fined not less than twenty five twenty-five dollars nor more than five hundred14
dollars, or be imprisoned for not less than ten days nor more than six months, or15
both.16
