ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2010 HOUSE BILL NO. 443 BY REPRESENTATIVE HUTTER AN ACT1 To repeal R.S. 17:1994(B)(15), (33), (34), and (41); to repeal provisions designating the2 Jefferson, Sidney N. Collier, Slidell, and West Jefferson campuses as part of the3 Louisiana Technical College; to provide relative to the transfer of certain programs,4 courses of study, funds, facilities, property, obligations, and functions; to provide5 relative to the students and employees of the technical college campuses; to provide6 an effective date; and to provide for related matters.7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:8 Section 1. The provisions of R.S. 17:1994(B)(15), (33), (34), and (41) are hereby9 repealed in their entirety.10 Section 2. By not later than August 15, 2010, the Board of Supervisors of11 Community and Technical Colleges shall transfer all programs and courses of study offered12 through the Jefferson, Sidney N. Collier, Slidell, and West Jefferson campuses of the13 Louisiana Technical College to Delgado Community College, along with the funds,14 facilities, property, obligations, and functions relative thereto.15 Section 3. Any student enrolled in a program or course of study at the Jefferson,16 Sidney N. Collier, Slidell, or West Jefferson campus of the Louisiana Technical College17 shall be permitted to complete his program or course of study at no greater cost or conditions18 than those applicable to the student prior to the transfer of such program or course of study19 to Delgado Community College, provided the student completes his program or course of20 study within two years of such transfer.21 Section 4. The Board of Supervisors of Community and Technical Colleges shall22 review the programs and employees at the former technical college campuses and provide23 for an employee transition consistent with the mission of Delgado Community College and24 that provides opportunities for an employee to have a role at the community college at least25 ENROLLEDHB NO. 443 Page 2 of 2 equivalent to his position prior to the transfer of the employing technical college campus to1 Delgado Community College.2 Section 5. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not3 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature4 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
