MTR VEHICLE/LICEN PLATES: Provides with respect to "Choose Life" prestige license
plates
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 47:463.61(C), relative to the "Choose Life" prestige license2
plate; to provide for an annual fee; and to provide for related matters.3
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4
Section 1. R.S. 47:463.61(C) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:5
ยง463.61. Special prestige license plates; "Choose Life"; distribution of royalty fees6

C. The charge annual fee for this special prestige license plate shall be a8
royalty fee of twenty-five dollars, in addition to the regular motor vehicle license fee9
provided in R.S. 47:463, to be distributed in the manner set forth in Paragraph (E)(1)10
of this Section and a three dollar and fifty cent handling fee to be retained by the11
department to offset a portion of administrative costs.12

Abstract: Provides for an annual fee of $25 for the "Choose Life" license plate.
Present law provides that the charge for the license plate shall include a royalty fee of $25
in addition to the standard motor vehicle license plate fees.
Proposed law provides that the royalty fee of $25 shall be an annual fee.
(Amends R.S.47:463.61(C))
