Pugh	HB No. 544
Abstract: Relative to the Tangipahoa Water District, increases the amount of per diem paid
to members of the governing board from $100 to $150 for attendance at each regular
or special meeting.
Present law requires the governing authority of Tangipahoa Parish to pay the members of
the board of commissioners of the Tangipahoa Water District a per diem at the rate of $100
per regular or special meeting. Provides that per diem shall not be paid for more than 12
special meetings per year. Prohibits the board from holding more than two regular meetings
during any one calendar month.
Proposed law increases the rate of per diem paid to governing board members from $100 to
$150 per regular or special meeting. Proposed law otherwise retains present law.
Effective July 1, 2010.
