Abstract: Excludes podiatrists and orthopedists from certain requirements relative to the
state purchase of prostheses, orthoses, and related services from accredited facilities.
Present law provides that licensed optometrists and ophthalmologists are excluded from the
requirement that a state agency shall only purchase prostheses, orthoses, prosthetic services,
or orthotic services from an accredited facility.
Proposed law retains present law and adds podiatrists and orthopedists to the list of those
professionals who are excluded from this requirement.
