GERMAIN FISHING/COMMERCIAL: Allows commercial fishing for shad throughout the Atchafalaya Basin Spillway AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 56:322.2(D)(2), relative to commercial take of shad and2 skipjack; to authorize nighttime taking of shad and skipjack in the Atchafalaya3 Basin; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 56:322.2(D)(2) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6 ยง322.2. Shad gill nets; commercial harvest of shad and skipjack herring7 * * *8 D.9 * * *10 (2) In Lake Palourde and Lake Verret and those portions of the parishes of11 Iberia, Iberville, and St. Martin located between the guide levees of the Atchafalaya12 Basin, shad and skipjack may be taken after sunset and before sunrise during open13 season. Proposed law allows the nighttime commercial take of shad and skipjack in Lake Verret, Lake Palourde, and throughout those portions of the parishes of Iberia, Iberville, and St. Martin located between the guide levees of the Atchafalaya Basin. (Amends R.S. 56:322.2(D)(2))
