WILDLIFE & FISHERIES DEP: Requires the establishment of an auxiliary enforcement
unit for the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 56:69.3(A), relative to the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries,2
auxiliary enforcement program; to require appointment of auxiliary enforcement3
agents by the secretary of the department; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 56:69.3(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6
ยง69.3.  Commissions and commissioning7
A. The secretary may shall establish an auxiliary force to assist the8
department's enforcement division and shall commission auxiliary agents under the9
provisions of this Subpart to supplement the efforts of wildlife agents to the degree10
necessary to adequately protect the state's wildlife and fishery resources. However,11
at no time shall there be fewer than ten nor more than fifty active commissioned12
auxiliary agents.13

Present law provides for an auxiliary enforcement program in the Dept. of  Wildlife and

Provides for the standards and procedures for such commissioning and the manner in which
an enforcement auxiliary may be used.
Proposed law requires the establishment of an auxiliary enforcement unit and requires the
secretary to appoint such agents.  Requires at least 10 such agents at all times.  Retains
existing standards and procedures.
