Abstract: Provides relative to the distribution of bound copies of Acts of the legislature by
the secretary of state
Present law (R.S. 24:173) provides that the secretary of state's office shall annually distribute
bound copies of the Acts and journals of the legislature to certain entities set forth in present
law.
Proposed law retains present law but modifies the distribution list as follows:
(1)Changes the number of copies distributed to each agency and department of state
government from as many copies as requested to one copy.
(2)Removes the recorder of mortgages for Orleans Parish from the list.
(3)Changes the number of copies distributed to the Law Library of Louisiana at New
Orleans from 70 to 25.
Present law (R.S. 25:125) further requires the secretary of state to distribute 25 copies of the
Acts to the LSU Law library. Proposed law retains present law but changes this number
from 25 to 10.
