HOUSE BILL NO. 84

APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT:  Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
DOTD in the suit entitled "William K. Harrison, Jr. et al v. Succession of Patrick E.
Vincent, et al"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2010-2
2011 to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled "William K.3
Harrison, Jr. v. Succession of Patrick E. Vincent, American Century Casualty, and4
State of Louisiana, Department of Transportation and Development"; and to provide5
for related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. The sum of One Hundred Thousand and No/100 ($100,000.00) Dollars8
is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year9
2010-2011 in favor of plaintiffs, Katherine Hill Phillips, the sole surviving parent of the10
decedent, William K. Harrison, Jr., and Caron Marie Carlin, Administratrix of the estate of11
William K. Harrison, Jr.,  to be used to pay the consent judgment in the suit entitled12
"William K. Harrison, Jr. v. Succession of Patrick E. Vincent, American Century Casualty,13
and State of Louisiana, Department of Transportation and Development", bearing Number14
2005-4242, on the docket of the Fourteenth Judicial District Court, parish of Calcasieu, state15
of Louisiana.16
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2010; if vetoed by the governor17
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,18
2010, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 19 HLS 10RS-336	ORIGINAL
