HLS 10RS-820 ENGROSSED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2010 HOUSE BILL NO. 857 BY REPRESENTATIVE TIM BURNS (On Recommendation of the Louisiana State Law Institute) MORTGAGES: Directs the LSLI to redesignate certain provisions relative to mortgage records from Title 44 of the L.R.S. of 1950 to Title 9 of the L.R.S. of 1950 AN ACT1 To direct the Louisiana State Law Institute to redesignate certain provisions from Title 442 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 to Title 9 of the Louisiana Revised3 Statutes of 1950, relative to mortgage records; to provide for the effectiveness of4 references to redesignated statutes; and to provide for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. The Louisiana State Law Institute is hereby directed to redesignate R.S.7 44:104 as R.S. 9:2742, R.S. 44:105 as R.S. 9:2743, R.S. 44:106 as R.S. 9:5169, R.S. 44:1078 as R.S. 9:5170, R.S. 44:108 as R.S. 9:5171, R.S. 44:109 as R.S. 9:5172, R.S. 44:109.1 as9 R.S. 9:5173, R.S. 44:110 as R.S. 9:5174, R.S. 44:111 as R.S. 9:5175, R.S. 44:112 as R.S.10 9:5176, and R.S. 44:113 as R.S. 9:2741.11 Section 2. The Louisiana State Law Institute is further directed to make technical12 changes to any citations and statutory forms, including R.S. 44:109.1, as necessary to reflect13 the statutory redesignations in Title 9 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950.14 Section 3. The redesignation of a statute as provided by this Act shall not invalidate15 a reference to the former citation of the redesignated statute.16 Section 4. Proposed law provides that the provisions of proposed law redesignating certain statutes shall not invalidate a reference to the former citation of the redesignated statute. Effective Jan. 1, 2011.
