[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] Lambert HB No. 885 Abstract: Removes the geographical restriction on the use of wire nets and hoop nets for recreational fishing. Present law provides for the authorized methods to recreationally take freshwater and saltwater fish. Restricts the use of wire nets and hoop nets to the area north of a line generally following I-12 and I-10 across the southern portion of the state. Proposed law removes the geographical restriction on the use of wire nets and hoop nets which enables their use throughout the state. (Amends R.S. 56:320(A)(1))
