Wooton	HB No. 9
Abstract: Provides for reciprocity between states when a concealed handgun permit is
issued by another state to a resident of that state who is least 21 years of age.
Present law provides for the issuance of concealed handgun permits.
Present law provides that a current and valid concealed handgun permit issued by another
state shall be deemed to be valid within this state if a current and valid concealed handgun
permit issued by La. is valid in those states. (The states have reached a concealed handgun
reciprocity agreement.)
Proposed law adds that, in order for a concealed handgun permit issued by another state to
be deemed valid in La., the permit has to have been issued to a resident of that state who is
at least 21 years of age and otherwise retains present law.
