HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 142
BY REPRESENTATIVE KATZ AND SENATOR WALSWORTH
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend the Neville High School Football Team as the 2009 Class 4A State
Champions.
WHEREAS, on December 12, 2009, the football teams of Neville High School and
Franklinton High School met in the Superdome for the 2009 Class 4A state championship;
and
WHEREAS, the result was a resounding defeat of the Franklinton team by the
Neville High School Tigers; the score was 31-15; and
WHEREAS, the Tigers of Neville High School went into this game with a record of
13-1; and
WHEREAS, a physically superior defense and a high-powered offense, which
completed the longest offensive play in prep classic history, enabled the Tigers to dominate
its opponent, jumping to a 21-0 lead; and
WHEREAS, this championship season is the 9th state championship for the Neville
High School Tigers; and
WHEREAS, this year's winning season and championship was, in no doubt, a credit
to the players' and coaches' dedication to perform at their highest levels.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the 2009 Class 4A state football champions, the Neville High School Football
Team, the Tigers, and does hereby extend its wishes for continued success, on and off the
field, for the players and coaches. ENROLLEDHCR NO. 142

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Neville High School.
