BY REPRESENTATIVES WILLMOTT AND LIGI AND SENATOR MARTINY
COMMENDATIONS: Commends Arthur Tudela for his outstanding service to his country
in the U.S. Marine Corps
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend Arthur Tudela for his outstanding service to his country in the United States2
Marine Corps.3
WHEREAS, Arthur Tudela is a resident of Kenner who served with distinction as4
a corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 until 1968 during the Vietnam War;5
and6
WHEREAS, even though the Vietnam War was unpopular at the time, Mr. Tudela7
was committed to answering the call to duty for his country to protect his fellow citizens;8
and9
WHEREAS, Mr. Tudela consistently performed his military duties in a valorous10
manner, exhibiting courage and gallantry in the face of utmost danger; and11
WHEREAS, Mr. Tudela lives by the motto, "Once a Marine, always a Marine"; and12
WHEREAS, in honor of his invaluable service in Vietnam, Mr. Tudela received the13
Purple Heart twice, the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Service Award, the Vietnam14
Campaign Award, the Navy Unit Citation, the Presidential Unit Citation, the National15
Defense Medal, the Marine Corps Combat Medal, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry; and16
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to extend heartfelt thanks to Mr. Tudela for his17
outstanding military service in Vietnam and for the sacrifices he made in the name of18
freedom; and 19
WHEREAS, the heroism displayed by Mr. Tudela is a shining example of the20

WHEREAS, Arthur Tudela, whose actions upheld the highest traditions of the United1
States Marine Corps, merits a special measure of commendation for the tremendous honor2
that he brings to his family, friends, and community, the city of Kenner, the state of3
Louisiana, and the United States of America.4
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby5
commend Arthur Tudela for his outstanding service to his country in the United States6
Marine Corps, does hereby recognize and record for posterity his extraordinary7
accomplishments and singular contributions, and does hereby extend best wishes for his8
continued success and happiness in the years to come. 9
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted10
to Arthur Tudela. 11
