HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 166
BY REPRESENTATIVES WILLMOTT AND LIGI AND SENATOR MARTINY
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Arthur Tudela for his outstanding service to his country in the United States
Marine Corps.
WHEREAS, Arthur Tudela is a resident of Kenner who served with distinction as
a corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 until 1968 during the Vietnam War;
and
WHEREAS, even though the Vietnam War was unpopular at the time, Mr. Tudela
was committed to answering the call to duty for his country to protect his fellow citizens;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tudela consistently performed his military duties in a valorous
manner, exhibiting courage and gallantry in the face of utmost danger; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tudela lives by the motto, "Once a Marine, always a Marine"; and
WHEREAS, in honor of his invaluable service in Vietnam, Mr. Tudela received the
Purple Heart twice, the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Service Award, the Vietnam
Campaign Award, the Navy Unit Citation, the Presidential Unit Citation, the National
Defense Medal, the Marine Corps Combat Medal, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to extend heartfelt thanks to Mr. Tudela for his
outstanding military service in Vietnam and for the sacrifices he made in the name of
freedom; and 
WHEREAS, the heroism displayed by Mr. Tudela is a shining example of the
American spirit in which the citizens of Louisiana take great pride; and
WHEREAS, Arthur Tudela, whose actions upheld the highest traditions of the United
States Marine Corps, merits a special measure of commendation for the tremendous honor
that he brings to his family, friends, and community, the city of Kenner, the state of
Louisiana, and the United States of America. ENROLLEDHCR NO. 166

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Arthur Tudela for his outstanding service to his country in the United States
Marine Corps, does hereby recognize and record for posterity his extraordinary
accomplishments and singular contributions, and does hereby extend best wishes for his
continued success and happiness in the years to come.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Arthur Tudela.
