HLS 10RS-4563 ENGROSSED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2010 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 175 BY REPRESENTATIVE PATRICIA SMITH STATE EMPLOYEES: Directs the commissioner of administration to study and make recommendations on reductions to state employment A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1 To direct the commissioner of administration to develop a comprehensive study of the state2 workforce encompassing each department, agency, and program of the executive3 branch of state government and based on the results shall recommend reductions to4 state employment. Such recommendations shall be submitted to the Joint Legislative5 Committee on the Budget at the same time the Fiscal Year 2011-2012 Executive6 Budget is submitted and shall include a plan for implementation in the Fiscal Year7 2011-2012 Executive Budget.8 WHEREAS, budget deficits may require reductions in the state workforce; and9 WHEREAS, in order to make the most responsible reductions in the state workforce,10 a comprehensive look at the current workforce status is necessary; and11 WHEREAS, reductions in the workforce may need to be done in a short time period12 and will require planning as to where and how such reductions will be made. 13 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby14 direct the commissioner of administration to develop a comprehensive study of the state15 workforce encompassing each department, agency, and program of the executive branch of16 state government and based on the results shall recommend reductions to state employment.17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such recommendations shall be submitted to the18 Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget at the same time the Fiscal Year 2011-201219 Executive Budget is submitted and shall include a plan for implementation in the Fiscal Year20 2011-2012 Executive Budget.21 HLS 10RS-4563 ENGROSSED HCR NO. 175 Page 2 of 2 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted1 to the commissioner of administration.2 DIGEST The digest printed below was prepared by House Legislative Services.
