O.: Urges and requests the New Orleans Civil Service Commission to allow the nonjudicial portion of its meetings to be televised from New Orleans City Council chambers A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1 To urge and request the New Orleans Civil Service Commission to allow the nonjudicial2 portion of its meetings to be televised from the New Orleans City Council chambers.3 WHEREAS, the New Orleans Civil Service Commission is the central personnel4 agency for the city of New Orleans; and5 WHEREAS, the New Orleans Civil Service Commission has created a personnel6 system that encourages a stable, qualified, efficient, and politically neutral workforce that7 delivers quality services; and8 WHEREAS, the meetings of the New Orleans Civil Service Commission are9 informative and address many of the concerns of the citizens, as well as the workforce, of10 the city of New Orleans; and11 WHEREAS, television is one of the most effective means of disseminating12 information to the public; and13 WHEREAS, the New Orleans City Council chambers are equipped to provide 14 televised feeds of meetings.15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana hereby urges16 and requests the New Orleans Civil Service Commission to allow the nonjudicial portion of17 its meetings to be televised from the New Orleans City Council chambers.18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution shall be transmitted19 to the New Orleans Civil Service Commission.20 HLS 10RS-5378 ORIGINAL HCR NO. 274 Page 2 of 2 DIGEST The digest printed below was prepared by House Legislative Services.
