COMMENDATIONS: Commends Rickey Moore for saving the life of a driver of a
flooded vehicle
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend Rickey Moore for saving the life of a driver of a flooded vehicle.2
WHEREAS, Rickey Moore was honored for saving the life of a driver of a flooded3
vehicle at the State Fair of Louisiana in Shreveport, Louisiana, in October of 2009; and4
WHEREAS, Moore was employed by Professional Security Agency; and5
WHEREAS, he worked at the gate entry to the Louisiana State Fair Grounds on6
Hudson Street; and7
WHEREAS, Moore saw a car enter a flooded underpass on Hudson Street near the8
fair; and 9
WHEREAS, the car began to sink around ten o'clock that night; and10
WHEREAS, the teen driver was unable to open the car door against the swift current;11
and12
WHEREAS, after calling for emergency responders, Moore jumped into the water13
and assisted the driver to safety; and14
WHEREAS, Mr. Bobby Smith, Moore's boss, said that he is thankful that his15
employee was there and willing to act in the best interest of the young driver.16
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby17
commend Rickey Moore for saving the life of a driver of a flooded vehicle.18
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted19
