A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Rickey Moore for saving the life of a driver of a flooded vehicle.
WHEREAS, Rickey Moore was honored for saving the life of a driver of a flooded
vehicle at the State Fair of Louisiana in Shreveport, Louisiana, in October of 2009; and
WHEREAS, Moore was employed by Professional Security Agency; and
WHEREAS, he worked at the gate entry to the Louisiana State Fair Grounds on
Hudson Street; and
WHEREAS, Moore saw a car enter a flooded underpass on Hudson Street near the
fair; and
WHEREAS, the car began to sink around ten o'clock that night; and
WHEREAS, the teen driver was unable to open the car door against the swift current;
and
WHEREAS, after calling for emergency responders, Moore jumped into the water
and assisted the driver to safety; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bobby Smith, Moore's boss, said that he is thankful that his
employee was there and willing to act in the best interest of the young driver.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Rickey Moore for saving the life of a driver of a flooded vehicle.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Mr. Rickey Moore.
