ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2010 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 113 BY REPRESENTATIVE HENRY BURNS A RESOLUTION To express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Mona McClaran Anderson. WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the Louisiana House of Representatives learned of the death of Mona McClaran Anderson on Sunday, May 9, 2010, at the age of sixty-one; and WHEREAS, a native of New Iberia, Mona McClaran Anderson was born on January 2, 1949; and WHEREAS, Ms. Anderson was a paralegal for more than thirty years and was widely respected within the legal community; and WHEREAS, for several years, Ms. Anderson served on the board of directors of the Louisiana Association on Compulsive Gambling, and she was very instrumental in the support and encouragement of those suffering due to compulsive gambling; and WHEREAS, Ms. Anderson will always be remembered for the tremendous strength and courage with which she faced her battle with cancer and for how she never wavered in her deep Christian faith; and WHEREAS, preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Bernice Alvarado, Ms. Anderson is survived by three daughters, Leslye McClaran Morgan, Ashley McClaran, and Baileigh McClaran Levee and her husband Zac; three grandchildren, Kathryn, Parker, and Avahline; her brother, Frank Alvarado; her sisters, Dolores Boutte, Patsy Lennie, and Jennifer Manuel; and many nieces, nephews, and friends; and WHEREAS, with the death of Ms. Anderson, Louisiana has lost one of her finest citizens, and though her death has created a tremendous void in her community, she will forever remain an inspiration in the minds and hearts of all who knew and loved her. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the ENROLLEDHR NO. 113 Page 2 of 2 death of Mona McClaran Anderson, does hereby recognize her outstanding achievements and singular contributions, does hereby record for posterity her extraordinary gifts and talents, and does hereby extend appreciation for her enduring legacy that will continue to be a source of great pride and honor for her family, friends, community, and state.
