CONDOLENCES: Expresses condolences upon the deaths of Sonja Anderson and her son,
Jonathan Glenn Anderson
A RESOLUTION1
To express the sincere and heartfelt condolences of the House of Representatives upon the2
deaths of Sonja Pullen Anderson and her son, Jonathan Glenn Anderson.3
WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the4
Louisiana House of Representatives have learned of the deaths of Sonja Pullen Anderson and5
her son, Jonathan Glenn Anderson, on Thursday, May 25, 2010, at the ages of forty-four and6
two, respectively; and7
WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson was a native of Alexandria, Louisiana, where she was8
a 1983 graduate of Peabody Magnet High School; and9
WHEREAS, a long-time resident of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Anderson attended Southern10
University A&M College and most recently worked as a constituent services coordinator for11
the Louisiana Department of Justice, office of the attorney general; and12
WHEREAS, on top of her other accomplishments, talents, and endeavors, Mrs.13
Anderson was an integral and active member of the Greater King David Baptist Church,14
where she was a founder and member of the Christian Couples Ministry and the Usher15
Ministry II; and16
WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson and her son, Jonathan Glenn Anderson, were bright and17
shining lights in the lives and hearts of their family and all who knew them; and18
WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson and Jonathan are survived by her husband and his father,19

of other relatives and friends who profoundly feel their absence but who will carry forward1
their memory and their legacies; and2
WHEREAS, with the deaths of Sonja and Jonathan Anderson, Louisiana has lost two3
valuable and unique citizens whose contributions, both great and small, to their community,4
their family, and their friends will be remembered and cherished forever in the minds and5
hearts of all who knew and loved them.6
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the7
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the8
deaths of Sonja Pullen Anderson and her son, Jonathan Glenn Anderson, does hereby record9
for posterity their extraordinary gifts and talents, and does hereby extend appreciation for10
their enduring legacies that will continue to be a source of great pride and honor for their11
family, friends, community, and state.12
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted13
to the family of Sonja Pullen Anderson and Jonathan Glenn Anderson.14
