A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere and heartfelt condolences of the House of Representatives upon the
deaths of Sonja Pullen Anderson and her son, Jonathan Glenn Anderson.
WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
Louisiana House of Representatives have learned of the deaths of Sonja Pullen Anderson and
her son, Jonathan Glenn Anderson, on Thursday, May 25, 2010, at the ages of forty-four and
two, respectively; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson was a native of Alexandria, Louisiana, where she was
a 1983 graduate of Peabody Magnet High School; and
WHEREAS, a long-time resident of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Anderson attended Southern
University A&M College and most recently worked as a constituent services coordinator for
the Louisiana Department of Justice, office of the attorney general; and
WHEREAS, on top of her other accomplishments, talents, and endeavors, Mrs.
Anderson was an integral and active member of the Greater King David Baptist Church,
where she was a founder and member of the Christian Couples Ministry and the Usher

WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson and her son, Jonathan Glenn Anderson, were bright and
shining lights in the lives and hearts of their family and all who knew them; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson and Jonathan are survived by her husband and his father,
Johnny Glenn Anderson, by Jonah Glenn Anderson, Jonathan's twin brother, and by numbers
of other relatives and friends who profoundly feel their absence but who will carry forward
their memory and their legacies; and
WHEREAS, with the deaths of Sonja and Jonathan Anderson, Louisiana has lost two
valuable and unique citizens whose contributions, both great and small, to their community,
their family, and their friends will be remembered and cherished forever in the minds and
hearts of all who knew and loved them.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the
deaths of Sonja Pullen Anderson and her son, Jonathan Glenn Anderson, does hereby record
for posterity their extraordinary gifts and talents, and does hereby extend appreciation for
their enduring legacies that will continue to be a source of great pride and honor for their
family, friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the family of Sonja Pullen Anderson and Jonathan Glenn Anderson.
