COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Terrebonne High School Girls' Class 5A Basketball
Team in honor of their winning the district and regional championships
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the Terrebonne High School Girls' Class 5A Basketball Team in honor of2
winning the district and regional championships.3
WHEREAS, in 2010, the Terrebonne High School Girls' 5A Basketball Team4
experienced the honor of winning both the district and regional championship; and5
WHEREAS, Terrebonne High School's philosophy is that athletic participation6
provides the opportunity to develop knowledge, skill, and attitudes so the students may7
become productive, contributing citizens of their community and society; and8
WHEREAS, athletics is an integral part of the students' education at Terrebonne9
High School; and10
WHEREAS, the students in the athletic program at Terrebonne High School learn11
the power of sharing their unique talents and the intensity of working together for a common12
goal; and13
WHEREAS, the athletic program at Terrebonne High School reflects the school's14
goals and objectives for each student; and15
WHEREAS, the athletic program at Terrebonne High School has the following16
ideals: a solid moral and ethical code of conduct, development of self-discipline, establishing17
team and personal goals for success, development of pride, confidence, self-respect on the18
team and school, establishing appropriate physical and mental health habits to develop a19

WHEREAS, the Terrebonne High School Girls Basketball Team consists of eighteen1
players including: Deja Austin, Ikeia Beauty, Tamitris Bryant, Brienna Butler, Mercy Davis,2
Darian Dees, Raina Diggs, Chasity Fornah, Abby Hargroder, Jani Joseph, Sierra Lyons,3
Tyrika Martin, Kirstyn Matthews, Robin Robinson, Brittany Spotts, Terrin Tillman, Alaina4
Verdin, and Creshonna Williams; and5
WHEREAS, the Terrebonne High School Girls Basketball team is coached by Greg6
Knox and Alison William.7
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the8
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate the Terrebonne High9
School Girls' Class 5A Basketball Team in honor of winning the 2010 District and Regional10
Championships.11
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted12
to the athletic department at Terrebonne High School.13
