COMMENDATIONS: Commends the LSU-Eunice baseball team upon winning the 2010
National Junior College Athletic Assoc. Division II World Series
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the Louisiana State University-Eunice baseball team upon winning the 20102
National Junior College Athletic Association Division II World Series.3
WHEREAS, the Louisiana State University-Eunice (LSUE) baseball Bengals4
completed a sensational season, winning the 2010 National Junior College Athletic5
Association (NJCAA) Division II World Series by defeating the University of Connecticut-6
Avery Point by a score of ten to two in Enid, Oklahoma, on June 5, 2010; and 7
WHEREAS, the LSUE baseball team finished the season with an impressive winning8
record of fifty-three wins and only thirteen losses; and 9
WHEREAS, the championship was the Bengals' third national title in five years and10
the culmination of another unforgettable season; the team also won the national11
championship in 2006 and 2008; and 12
WHEREAS, Chance Mistric earned the win on the mound pitching 6 1/3 innings,13
allowing two runs on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts, and was named the co-14
outstanding pitcher of the tournament; Brook Boudreaux went 2-for-3 with four RBIs to lead15
the way offensively; Jordan Bourque, Jacob Fisher, and Raph Rhynes were named to the all-16
tournament team; and Gabriel Thibodeaux was named the tournament Most Valuable Player;17

WHEREAS, the Bengals performed at the highest level of excellence throughout the1
season, and each of these great student athletes deserves recognition for his vital2
contributions to the winning effort; and 3
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved4
without the guidance and skills of head coach Jeff Willis, assistant coach Alan Orgain,5
assistant coach Josh McDonald, and assistant coach Randy Hux as well as all of the other6
individuals who have contributed to the great success of LSUE's baseball program; and 7
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding season upholds the glorious tradition of the8
Bengals, and all LSUE alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and distinguished9
honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state.10
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the11
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Louisiana State University-Eunice12
baseball team upon winning the 2010 National Junior College Athletic Association Division13
II World Series and does hereby extend best wishes to the athletes, coaches, and everyone14
involved with this fine baseball program as they celebrate their exceptional season and15
prepare for continued success in the future.16
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted17
to head coach Jeff Willis.18
