HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 177
BY REPRESENTATIVES WOOTON AND TUCKER
COMMENDATIONS:  Commends Dr. Ken Ward for his commitment and contributions to
the La. House of Representatives
A RESOLUTION1
To commend Dr. Ken Ward for his commitment and contributions to the Louisiana House2
of Representatives.3
WHEREAS, Dr. Ken Ward, legislative ethicist and coordinator of chaplain services,4
is uniquely qualified for this position because of his training, experiences, and genuine5
dedication to the Louisiana House of Representatives; and6
WHEREAS, Dr. Ward's training includes receiving his doctor of philosophy degree7
from Louisiana State University, where he completed and published his dissertation in the8
area of legislative ethics; and 9
WHEREAS, Dr. Ward's experiences include serving the Louisiana Moral and Civic10
Foundation, which was organized in 1942 for the purpose "of helping people of all faiths and11
no faith to work together to make a better Louisiana", first as director of the legal and12
legislative division and later as the executive director of the foundation; and 13
WHEREAS, Dr. Ward, who serves at the pleasure of the speaker, seeks on a daily14
basis to demonstrate love for and dedication to all of the members and staff of the House of15
Representatives, and he continues to sacrificially serve without compensation.16
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the17
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Dr. Ken Ward, legislative ethicist and18
coordinator of chaplain services, for his commitment to the Louisiana House of19
Representatives and does hereby express its appreciation to him for his pride in and20

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted1
to Dr. Ken Ward.2
