A RESOLUTION
To urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to prepare a plan
for the Crescent City Connection Division and report the plan to the House
Committee on Appropriations at its April 26, 2010 meeting, and to the House
Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works at its April 26, 2010
meeting.
WHEREAS, R.S. 47:820.5, et seq. authorize the imposition and collection of tolls
on the Crescent City Connection through December 31, 2012; and
WHEREAS, bridge tolls were mandated to provide funding to pay off the bonds and
to provide road projects and other services associated with the Crescent City Connection;
and
WHEREAS, the bonds serviced by the bridge tolls will be paid in full by December
31, 2012; and
WHEREAS, despite this deadline, the Department of Transportation and
Development has not presented any plan regarding the cessation or the continuation of the
Crescent City Connection Division.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request the Department of Transportation and
Development prepare a plan regarding the cessation or the continuation of the Crescent City
Connection Division and report the plan to the House Committee on Appropriations at its
April 26, 2010 meeting, and to the House Committee on Transportation, Highways, and
Public Works at its April 27, 2010 meeting.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development.
