COMMENDATIONS: Commends William C. "Pat" Allen III and Patricia Hoke Allen upon
their 50th wedding anniversary
A RESOLUTION1
To commend William C. "Pat" Allen III and Patricia Hoke Allen upon the celebration of2
their fiftieth wedding anniversary.3
WHEREAS, William C. "Pat" Allen III and Patricia Hoke Allen were married on4
April 29, 1960, by Pastor Marr at Northwood Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana; and5
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Allen lived in Shreveport for a few months after their6
marriage until the couple moved to Natchitoches, where Mr. Allen attended college at7
Northwestern State University and graduated in 1962; and8
WHEREAS, during the summers, Mr. Allen worked for his father in the oil and gas9
business; and10
WHEREAS, after college, Mr. Allen went to work for his father full time at W.C.11
Allen Oil and Gas Company, and the couple lived in Oil City, Louisiana; and12
WHEREAS, after his father's death in 1997, Mr. Allen became part owner of W.C.13
Allen Oil and Gas Company with his brothers; and14
WHEREAS, Mrs. Allen worked as a beautician for several years and dedicated many15
years to the raising of four wonderful children; and16
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Allen are loving and proud parents and grandparents to17
their four children, William Calvin Allen IV, who passed away in 1999, Angie Allen18
Rossett, Roysan Allen Rotman, and Mende Allen Chance, and their nine grandchildren; and19 HLS 10RS-3426 ORIGINAL

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Allen currently reside in Blanchard, Louisiana, and the1
couple celebrated their fiftieth anniversary on Thursday, April 29, 2010, with family and2
friends; and3
WHEREAS, the Allens' dedication to each other and to their family is an example4
of lifelong love and commitment, and their anniversary is a joyous and memorable occasion5
that merits sincere congratulations.6
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the7
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend William C. "Pat" Allen III and Patricia Hoke8
Allen upon the joyful and memorable occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary, does9
hereby recognize and record for posterity the beautiful example of dedication and love that10
they have provided to their family and community, and does hereby extend best wishes for11
their continued happiness as they enjoy their future years together.12
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted13
to William C. "Pat" Allen III and Patricia Hoke Allen.14
