State Capitol A RESOLUTION1 To recognize Monday, May 17, 2010, as YMCA Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.2 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend the volunteers and members of the3 Louisiana YMCAs and to recognize Monday, May 17, 2010, as YMCA Day at the Louisiana4 State Capitol; and5 WHEREAS, the mission of the YMCA is to build strong kids, strong families, and6 strong communities through programs that instill values of caring, honesty, respect, and7 responsibility; and8 WHEREAS, Louisiana's YMCAs are dedicated to providing programs and services9 to more than one hundred thousand children, youth, and adults; and10 WHEREAS, Louisiana's YMCAs support the development of integrated, community-11 based strategies for serving children and families; and12 WHEREAS, Louisiana's YMCAs stand ready to support state government efforts to13 provide development programs for children and youth, strengthen families, and mobilize and14 coordinate broad efforts to support children and families through partnerships that meet15 community needs; and16 WHEREAS, on Monday, May 17, 2010, representatives of Louisiana's YMCAs are17 meeting in the Louisiana State Capitol with their state representatives and senators to discuss18 and exchange ideas on issues facing youth and families.19 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the20 Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Monday, May 17, 2010, as YMCA Day at21 HLS 10RS-4222 ORIGINAL HR NO. 79 Page 2 of 2 the Louisiana State Capitol and does hereby commend the members and volunteers of1 Louisiana's YMCAs for their dedication to families throughout the state.2 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted3 to Doug Evans, chairman of the Louisiana Statewide Alliance of YMCAs.4 DIGEST The digest printed below was prepared by House Legislative Services.
