COMMENDATIONS:  Commends the Vandebilt Catholic High School girls softball team
upon winning the 2010 District 8-4A championship and the 2010 Class 4A state
championship
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the Vandebilt Catholic High School girls softball team upon winning the 20102
District 8-4A championship and the 2010 Class 4A state championship.3
WHEREAS, the Vandebilt Catholic High School girls softball team completed a4
sensational season, earning the title of 2010 District 8-4A champions and 2010 Class 4A5
state champions; and 6
WHEREAS, the district and state championship wins were the culmination of7
another unforgettable season for the Lady Terriers; and 8
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence9
throughout the season and playoffs, and each of these great Lady Terriers deserves10
recognition for her vital contributions to the winning effort; and 11
WHEREAS, the 2010 Vandebilt Catholic High School girls softball team consists12
of Taylor Crosby, Shakira Harding, Abby Knight, Alacia LeBlanc, Jasmine Howard,13
Lindsey Lerille, Cecily Williams, Shikera Ross, Sybil Washington, Tressa LaFont, Leah14
Washington, and Theresa Plaisance; and15
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved16
without the guidance and skills of longtime head coach Margaret Johnson, assistant coaches17
Lanie Griffin and Jordan Walker, team managers Amie Chauvin, William Hotard, and18
Brooke Pompay, videographer Brielle Jacobs, and all of the other individuals who have19

WHEREAS, as a player, Margaret Johnson led the Vandebilt girls softball team to1
four consecutive state titles during the early 1980s and has captured seven state titles while2
serving as head coach over the past twenty-one seasons; and3
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding season upholds the glorious tradition of the Lady4
Terriers, and all Vandebilt Catholic High School alumni and fans recognize the immense5
pride and distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state.6
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the7
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Vandebilt Catholic High School girls8
softball team upon winning the 2010 District 8-4A championship and the 2010 Class 4A9
state championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the players, coaches, and10
everyone involved with this fine softball program as they celebrate their exceptional season11
and prepare for continued success in the future.12
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted13
to Coach Margaret Johnson.14
