COMMENDATIONS: Commends the E.D. White Catholic High School girls swim team
upon winning the 2010 Division III state championship
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the E.D. White Catholic High School girls swim team upon winning the 20102
Division III state championship.3
WHEREAS, the E.D. White Catholic High School girls swim team completed a4
sensational season, earning the title of 2010 Division III state champions after scoring 3815
points at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association state swim meet; and 6
WHEREAS, the championship win was the first state swimming championship for7
the Lady Cardinals and the culmination of another unforgettable season; and 8
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence9
throughout the season, and each of these great Lady Cardinals deserves recognition for her10
vital contributions to the winning effort; and 11
WHEREAS, the Lady Cardinals had four first place finishes: the 200-yard medley12
relay, the 50-yard freestyle, the 100-yard freestyle, and the 200-yard freestyle relay; and13
WHEREAS, top finishers for the Lady Cardinals included Michelle Gaubert, Sydney14
Amedee, Lauren Becnel, Alexandra Caillouet, Julie Lefort, Victoria Roy, Gabrielle Naquin,15
Emily Sauce, Cindi Mahler, Hayley Maggio, March Sauce, and Eleanor Pugh; and16
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved17
without the guidance and skills of head coach Charlotte Smith as well as all of the other18
individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's swimming program; and 19
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2010 season upholds the glorious tradition of the20
Lady Cardinals, and all E.D. White Catholic High School alumni and fans recognize the21 HLS 10RS-3988 ORIGINAL

immense pride and distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and1
state.2
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the3
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the E.D. White Catholic High School girls4
swim team upon winning the 2010 Division III state championship and does hereby extend5
best wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine swimming program6
as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.7
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted8
to Coach Charlotte Smith.9
