COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Catholic High School baseball team upon winning
the 2010 Class 5A state championship
A RESOLUTION1
To commend the Catholic High School baseball team upon winning the 2010 Class 5A state2
championship.3
WHEREAS, the Catholic High School baseball team completed a sensational season,4
earning the title of 2010 Class 5A state champions after defeating Lafayette High School by5
a score of eight to one to win the state championship game at Tulane's Turchin Stadium on6
May 16, 2010; and 7
WHEREAS, the championship win was the first Class 5A state baseball8
championship for the Bears and the culmination of another unforgettable season; and 9
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence10
throughout the 2010 season and playoffs, and each of these great Bears deserves recognition11
for his vital contributions to the winning effort; and 12
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved13
without the guidance and skills of Coach Kyle Achord as well as all of the other individuals14
who have contributed to the success of the school's baseball program; and 15
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2010 season upholds the glorious tradition of the16
Bears, and all Catholic High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and17
distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state.18
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the19
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Catholic High School baseball team20
upon winning the 2010 Class 5A state championship and does hereby extend best wishes to21 HLS 10RS-4489 ORIGINAL

the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine baseball program as they celebrate1
their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.2
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted3
to Coach Kyle Achord.4
