Regular Session, 2010 ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 156 BY SENATOR MURRAY AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 13:2152.3, relative to qualifications of certain judges; to provide with respect2 to the qualifications for judges of the First and Second City Court of the city of New3 Orleans; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 13:2152.3 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6 ยง2152.3. First City Court; Second City Court; qualifications of judges 7 Judges of the First and Second City Court of the city of New Orleans8 shall have been admitted to the practice of law in the state of Louisiana for at9 least eight years prior to their election, and shall have been qualified resident10 electors of the territorial jurisdiction of the court for at least one year prior to11 their election.12 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not13 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature14 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
