Regular Session, 2010 ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 229 BY SENATOR MARTINY AN ACT1 To amend and reenact Code of Evidence Article 902(1), relative to self-authentication; to2 provide relative to electronically generated documents under seal; and to provide for3 related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. Code of Evidence Article 902(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read6 as follows: 7 Art. 902. Self-authentication8 Extrinsic evidence of authenticity as a condition precedent to admissibility9 is not required with respect to the following:10 (1) Domestic public documents under seal. A document bearing a seal,11 including electronically generated documents logically associated with12 electronically generated seals, purporting to be that of the United States, or of any13 state, district, commonwealth, territory, or insular possession thereof, or the Panama14 Canal Zone, or the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, or of a political subdivision,15 department, officer, or agency thereof, and a signature purporting to be an attestation16 or execution.17 * * *18 PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF LOUISIANA APPROVED: ACT No. 541
