PUBLIC CONTRACTS. Increases the amount of the contract which is required to be
publicly advertised for bids on materials and supplies contracts of the sewerage and water
board in the city of New Orleans. (gov sig)
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 33:4084(A)(1)(a), to increase the requirement for public2
advertisement for bids on materials and supplies contracts of the sewerage and water3
board in the city of New Orleans; and to provide for related matters.4
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 33:4084(A)(1)(a) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as7
follows: 8
ยง4084. Purchase of supplies; machinery and equipment; emergency purchase;9
preference to home merchants10
A.(1)(a) All purchases of materials or supplies required by the board for the11
conduct, operation, maintenance, and repair of the public systems of sewerage,12
water, and drainage exceeding the sum of twenty thirty thousand dollars shall be13
advertised and let by contract to the lowest responsible bidder who has bid according14
to the contract plans and specifications as advertised.15

signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature1
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If2
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become3
effective on the day following such approval.4
