AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 47:463.73(C)(2), and (E), relative to special prestige license2
plates for Louisiana public and private high schools; to provide relative to collection3
of royalty fees; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 47:463.73(C)(2), and (E) are hereby amended and reenacted to read6
as follows: 7
ยง463.73.  Special prestige license plate; Louisiana public and private high schools8

(2) A royalty fee of twenty-five dollars for the use of the institution's design11
by the department shall be paid to the institution for each license plate issued as12
provided in this Section. At the option of any Louisiana public or private high13
school, this royalty fee shall be collected annually by the department.14

E. The secretary shall establish rules and regulations as are necessary to16
implement the provisions of this Section, including but not limited to rules and17
regulations governing the collection and disbursement of the monies generated from18
the one-time royalty fees for these plates, the transfer and disposition of such license19
plates, the colors available, and the design criteria.20

Section 2. The provisions of this Act shall be applicable to special prestige license22
plates for Louisiana public and private high schools issued on and after July 1, 2010, or23
renewals of such plates on and after that date.24 SB NO. 270	ENROLLED

Section 3. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2010; if vetoed by the governor1
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,2
2010, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.3
