AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 33:9091.7(F)(3)(c), relative to Orleans Parish; to provide for a2
renewal of parcel fees for the Lakeshore Crime Prevention District; and to provide3
for related matters.4
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 33:9091.7(F)(3)(c) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as7
follows: 8

F. Parcel fee. The governing authority of the city of New Orleans is hereby11
authorized to impose and collect a parcel fee within the district subject to and in12
accordance with the provisions of this Subsection:13

provided in Subparagraph (3)(a) of this Subsection. Any election to authorize1
renewal of the fee shall be held only at the same time as the mayoral primary2
election for that purpose in accordance with the Louisiana Election Code. If the3
fee is renewed, the term of the imposition of the fee shall be as provided in the4
proposition authorizing such renewal, not to exceed four years.5

Section 2.  This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2010.7

Present law provides relative to a parcel fee renewal for the Lakeshore Crime Prevention
District.
Present law provides that the parcel fee shall expire on December 31, 2010, but may be
renewed as provided in present law. Any election to authorize renewal of the fee shall be
held only at the same time as the mayoral primary election. If the fee is renewed, the term
of the imposition of the fee shall be as provided in the proposition authorizing such renewal,
not to exceed four years.
Proposed law retains present law but changes the election that would authorize the renewal
of the parcel fee from the mayoral primary to an election date called and held for that
purpose in accordance with the Louisiana Election Code.
 
Effective July 1, 2010.
