SPECIAL DISTRICTS.  Provides an additional time for elections to be held by crime
prevention and security districts for renewal of parcel fees.  (8/15/10)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 33:9098, relative to crime prevention and security districts; to provide that an2
election for the renewal of a parcel fee imposed within any crime prevention and3
security district may be held during a primary or general election; and to provide for4
related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1.  R.S. 33:9098 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7
ยง9098.  Renewal of parcel fee8
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, an election to renew a parcel9
fee imposed within any crime prevention and security district may be held at a10
regularly scheduled primary or general election held for that purpose in11
accordance with the Louisiana Election Code.12

Present law provides each crime prevention and security district with a time for holding an
election to renew a parcel fee established by 	present law. SB NO. 31

Proposed law provides that, notwithstanding any provision of present law, any crime
prevention and security district may hold an election to renew a parcel fee at a regularly
scheduled primary or general election held for that purpose in accordance with the Louisiana
Election Code.
Proposed law otherwise retains present law.
Effective August 15, 2010.
