Regular Session, 2010 ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 31 BY SENATOR MORRELL AN ACT1 To enact Part IV of Chapter 29 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to be2 comprised of R.S. 33:9098.1, relative to crime prevention and security districts; to3 provide that an election for the renewal of a parcel fee imposed within any crime4 prevention and security district or improvement district may be held during a5 primary or general election; and to provide for related matters.6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7 Section 1. Part IV of Chapter 29 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of8 1950, comprised of R.S. 33:9098.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows:9 PART IV. MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS10 ยง9098.1. Renewal of parcel fee11 Notwithstanding any other provision of law, an election to renew a parcel12 fee imposed within any crime prevention and security district or improvement13 district, created pursuant to Chapter 29 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised14 Statutes of 1950, may be held at an election held for that purpose in accordance15 with the Louisiana Election Code.16 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not17 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature18 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If19 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become20 effective on the day following such approval.
