AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 51:1423(F) and to repeal R.S. 51:1423(D)(3), relative to gift certificates; to2
repeal a certain exemption; and to provide for related matters.3
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4
Section 1. R.S. 51:1423(F) is hereby enacted to read as follows:5
ยง1423. Deceptive trade practices; gift certificates; expiration date6

F. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to general use prepaid8
cards as defined in Title IV of the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility,9
and Disclosure Act of 2009, 15 U.S.C. 1693 et seq., which are issued by federally10
insured depository institutions.11
Section 2. R.S. 51:1423(D)(3) is hereby repealed in its entirety.12
