(gov sig) AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 3:1(5), relative to agriculture definitions; to provide for the definition of2 sustainable agriculture; and to provide for related matters.3 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4 Section 1. R.S. 3:1(5) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 5 ยง1. Terms defined 6 As used in this Title, the terms defined in this Section have the meanings7 herein given to them, except where the context expressly indicates otherwise:8 * * *9 (5) "Sustainable" or "sustainable agriculture" means science-based10 practices, including the use of technology, which lead to broad outcome-based11 performance improvements to meet the needs of present and future generations12 while advancing environmental, social and economic goals and the well-being13 of agricultural producers and rural communities. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not2 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature3 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
