CONSERVATION. Prohibits the issuance of a drilling permit for certain welled located
within three hundred thirty feet of an existing water well. (8/15/10)
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 30:28(I), relative to drilling permits; to prohibit the issuance of a drilling2
permit for oil or gas wells or test wells located within a three hundred thirty foot3
radius of an existing water well; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 30:28(I) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6
ยง28. Drilling permits; issuance; fees; location plat; notice and hearing; funds from7
drilling permit fees8

I. The commissioner shall not issue a drilling permit for an oil or gas well10
or test well within a three hundred thirty foot radius of an existing water well.11 SB NO. 363
