Provides for the development and maintenance of a statewide digital geospatial database and for statewide topographic mapping responsibilities within DOTD. (gov sig) AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 48:36, relative to the Department of Transportation and Development; to2 provide for topographic mapping responsibilities; to authorize the department to3 develop and maintain a statewide digital geospatial database; to provide for the4 adoption of rules; and to provide for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 48:36 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7 ยง36. Topographic mapping8 The department may develop and maintain a statewide digital geospatial9 database. The department shall act as authority for geographic names, set10 standards for the mapping of topographic features, and plan and manage data11 collection for incorporation into a statewide database. Rules and regulations12 shall be promulgated by the department in accordance with the Administrative13 Procedure Act as are necessary for the planning and managing of the geospatial14 data.15 Section 2. Further requires DOTD to adopt rules and regulations, in accordance with the APA, as are necessary for the planning and managing of the geospatial data.
