Constitutional amendment to authorize the full homestead exemption for an owner in indivision who is occupying the homestead if the exemption had been allowed to such owner prior to June 20, 2003. (2/3 - CA13s1(A)) A JOINT RESOLUTION1 Proposing to amend Article VII, Section 20(A)(6) of the Constitution of Louisiana, relative2 to the homestead exemption; to provide with respect to the homestead exemption of3 homesteads occupied by an owner in indivision; and to specify an election for4 submission of the proposition to electors and provide a ballot proposition.5 Section 1. Be it resolved by the Legislature of Louisiana, two-thirds of the members6 elected to each house concurring, that there shall be submitted to the electors of the state, for7 their approval or rejection in the manner provided by law, a proposal to amend Article VII,8 Section 20(A)(6) of the Constitution of Louisiana, to read as follows:9 ยง20. Be it further resolved that this proposed amendment shall be submitted3 to the electors of the state of Louisiana at the statewide election to be held on November 2,4 2010.5 Section 3. Be it further resolved that on the official ballot to be used at said election6 there shall be printed a proposition, upon which the electors of the state shall be permitted7 to vote FOR or AGAINST, to amend the Constitution of Louisiana, which proposition shall8 read as follows:9 To authorize the full homestead exemption for an owner in indivision who10 is occupying the homestead if the exemption had been allowed to such owner11 prior to June 20, 2003.12 (Amends Article VII, Section 20(A)(6))13 The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by Riley Boudreaux.
