Provides relative to nonresident combination lifetime hunting and fishing licenses for certain veterans who have been wounded or disabled during active duty. (8/15/10) AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 56:649.4, relative to nonresident combination lifetime hunting2 and fishing licenses; to provide for the purchase of certain combination licenses for3 veterans who have been wounded or disabled; to provide requirements, terms, and4 conditions; and to provide for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 56:649.4 is hereby amended to read as follows: 7 ยง649.4. Nonresident combination lifetime hunting and fishing license 8 A. Any nonresident may obtain a combination lifetime hunting and fishing9 license which shall entitle the licensee to all of the privileges of both the lifetime10 hunting and lifetime sports fishing licenses provided for in R.S. 56:649.1 and 649.2.11 The fee for the nonresident combination lifetime license shall be three thousand12 dollars.13 B.(1) Any nonresident veteran who has been wounded or disabled during14 active duty with one of the armed forces of the United States or a reserve15 component, including the National Guard, and such injury is service-connected16 may obtain a combination lifetime hunting and fishing license which shall17 SB NO. 473 SLS 10RS-614 ENGROSSED Page 2 of 2 Coding: Words which are struck through are deletions from existing law; words in boldface type and underscored are additions. entitle the licensee to all of the privileges of both the lifetime hunting and1 lifetime sports fishing licenses provided for in R.S. 56:649.1 and 649.2. DIGEST Long (SB 473) Present law allows a nonresident to obtain a combination lifetime hunting and fishing license for a fee of $3000.00 Proposed law retains present law and provides that the fee for a combination lifetime hunting and fishing license for a nonresident veteran who has been disabled or wounded during active duty and the injury is service-connected shall be $300.00. Proposed law provides that such veteran must possess a valid Louisiana birth certificate and provide satisfactory proof of being a Louisiana resident for at least 10 years. Effective August 15, 2010.
